Little Snitch
Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can allow or deny these connections, or define rules to handle future attempts automatically. Little Snitch reliably prevents your private data from being sent out to the Internet without your knowledge.
- By setting it up on a Pi (NextDNS CLI) and pointing each device to the Pi, you would get per device logs and it would be a DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) proxy (encrypted DNS up to NextDNS (or another DoH provider if desired)). You can also set different configuration profiles based on IP, IP range, or MAC address.
- Cheaper and easier to use than Little Snitch. This app, like Little Snitch, selectively blocks outgoing connections, but it has a more detailed network monitor. Get this if you want an easier to use and more affordable firewall than Little Snitch.
