Dolphin Emulator Connect Ps3 Controller

  1. Dolphin Ps3 Controller
  2. Connect Ps3 Controller To Pc

I don't think it's an issue with my version of the emulator or my plugins. I used your file and it didn't help, and this happens with every NEWER version of Dolphin I get. It's my belief now that I may be missing something from my computer that is necessary to run Dolphin properly. I recently had to wipe my computer clean from all. To open and manage the controller settings for Dolphin, from the Dolphin's main window, navigate to Options - Controller Settings, or simply click the 'Controllers' button. The main controller configuration window will appear, as seen in the screenshot below. In the Gamecube Controllers config area, you can configure or disable the emulated. Go ahead and open Dolphin Emulator and click the Controllers button on the far right of Dolphin's built-in toolbar. At the bottom of the Port 1 drop-down box, click the GameCube Adapter for Wii U, and then click Configure. Note that Port 1 is the first port on the left side of the controller adapter. Port assignments. I am trying to connect my ps3 controller Dualsock on my laptop. I am using a usb key bootable with linux mint 17.1. So when I run “sudo xboxdrv –detach-kernel-driver”, it’s detects my ps3 controller and indicate where it’s available. But when I run jstest-gtk it doesn’t work with my ps3 controller. Please could you help me! Turn on your controller and connect it to your PC. Plug the narrow end of the controller's USB charging cable into the controller and the large end of the USB cable into one of your computer's USB ports. To turn your controller on, press the stylized 'PS' button in the middle of your controller. USB port locations vary depending on the type.

Can I use my PS3 wireless controller to play Dolphin?

Yes you can. Install MotioninJoy to make Windows recognize the PS3 controller as a bluetooth device. Now you can use it in Dolphin within the GCPad and Wiimote configuration.

The second GC Pad is not working

Go to 'Configuration' -> 'Gamecube' and make sure 'Port 2' is set to 'Standard Controller'.

Can I use more than 3 CPU cores to make Dolphin faster?

Sorry, that's not possible.

Some games run very slow

Do not expect to get high FPS in all games, Dolphin is still in development and needs a fast CPU (recommended: at least 2 GHz). Try enabling Dual Core to speed it up.

Audio doesn't work properly

Not all games have correct working audio yet, it's still in development.

The game fails to boot

Not all games are compatible in Dolphin yet, you will have to wait for a fix.

How do I know if my system supports Dolphin?

Your CPU needs to support SSE2, Pixel Shader 2.0 running Windows XP or higher. You can use CPU-Z and GPU-Z to get informations about your system.

What is the difference between x86 and x64?

x86 is 32bit and x64 is 64bit. The x64 version will ONLY run on a 64 bit OS. The 64 bit version of Dolphin has faster emulation speed than the x86 version.

The Gamespeed is too fast

Some games like New Super Mario Bros or Super Smash Brothers Brawl run too fast on modern Systems. There are two ways to slow the Gamespeed down to normal:

  • Framelimit Off + Audio Throttle checked
  • Framelimit Auto + Audio Throttle unchecked

If that doesn't help you can also try to enable other settings like 'V-Sync' or '16x anisotropy filtering'.

How can I play in 720p or 1080p?

If you want to play in 720p go to 'Graphics -> Direct3D' and change the Window Size to 1280x720. For 1080p simply choose 1920x1080.

Why is the Wiimote except the Home-Button not working in some Games?

Go to 'Config' -> 'Gamecube' and set 'Port 1' to 'Nothing'. Now the Wiimote should work fine. Some games like Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 or Sonic Riders Zero Gravity require this.

How to dump a Wii or Gamecube game?

Download Rawdump 2.1 and insert your Game DVD into your DVD Drive. Press 'Start Dump'. This may take a while. The game will be saved as a .wii or .wod file. After the dump has finished, press 'Convert raw to .iso' and you are done. Open the .iso file with Dolphin and have fun.

The following DVD Drives are not supported to dump Wii or Gamecube Games:
SONY DVD RW DW-G120A,NEC/SONY Optiarc DVD RW AD-7173A,Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200A,TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D163B,TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-D163BSB00,TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-W162L,TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-H653B FS01,TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D162C,OFOD SHMBO5U381,Pioneer dvd-rw DR-TD08HB,ATAPI DVD A DH16AASH SA15,ATAPI DVD A DH20A65 7P56,ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P 95P9,LG HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CH08LS10,TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223Q,HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N,TSSTcorpCDRWDVD TS-H493BD200,HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22LP20.

Does the configure window read your input when you try to map buttons? Did you get
any errors during build?

Happened to me too. Empty your User/Config from ini files and it should work after
you set your keys.

#3 Updated by jeger1917over 12 years ago

If by that you mean empty the config folder that is found in the user folder, I did
that and still no dice. Nothing registers.

Funny...Try any other input devices that you have. If you have a linux dual-boot,
try it there.

#7 Updated by marcusover 12 years ago

That's not likely to fix it though...
Does the configuration screen show any input?

#8 Updated by jeger1917over 12 years ago

Sorry, but what do you mean by configuration screen?

#9 Updated by marcusover 12 years ago

#10 Updated by jeger1917over 12 years ago

Indeed it does. All the buttons and I can change them and everything.

Then put this in your plugins directory:
http://members.cox.net/marcusw/Plugin_PadSimple.dll
It's my r2553 build of padsimple, and it works for me.

I don't think it's an issue with my version of the emulator or my plugins. I used
your file and it didn't help, and this happens with every NEWER version of Dolphin I
get. It's my belief now that I may be missing something from my computer that is
necessary to run Dolphin properly. I recently had to wipe my computer clean from all
data because of a crash so that may have something to do with it. I have DirectX9c
and the newest C++ Library (2008 sp1) but I'm not sure what else is needed.

#13 Updated by sl1nk3.sover 12 years ago

What pad plugin do you use ?
For the PS3 controller you'll need nJoy (0.3) and for the keyboard you may use the
standard KB/X360 pad plugin (not the event one)
Is that what you are using ?

#14 Updated by marcusover 12 years ago

Yeah, I would try installing sp2 or sp3. It think they check for any files that
should be there and aren't and stuff like that. You can also try using your windows
setup disk to 'repair your installation', or reinstall your directinput driver (if
that's what the kb/x360 pad uses, jpeterson can probably tell you).

#15 Updated by jeger1917over 12 years ago

When I used the njoy for the ps3 I somehow got past the start screen but nothing
else responded and I'm not sure exactly how I got there anyways. I don't seem to
have the xbox/kb plugin...

Connect Ps3 Controller To Pc

#22 Updated by marcusover 12 years ago

Really sorry about this...I hate it when something works for everyone except me,
like in issue 690.

Again, really sorry no one can help you. If you keep installing, uninstalling,
reinstalling, troubleshooting, and googling, you'll eventually fix it. Might take a
while, though.

Is it OK with you if I mark this as invalid, as it's only happening with one
computer and is therefore most likely not a problem with Dolphin? Speaking of which,
does it work on any other computers that you have?

#23 Updated by jeger1917over 12 years ago

Sure, it looks like it's just my issue not the emulators, mark it as invalid. Its
just a bit bothersome :/ The only other comp isn't exactly mine and is vista so it
will be a bit of an issue trying to run it there...I guess I need a new comp
anyways. Mine's getting old. Thanks for the input though guys! I appreciate that you
tried to help.

Well, I hope you manage to fix this. Good luck!
If you have any more questions, just ask.

#25 Updated by helgenxover 12 years ago

This is not only your problem dude, I am having the same problem, I have a PS2 to
USB which works for every single emulator I have ever used, except this one. All the
plugins read the name of it, but I can't configure them.

#26 Updated by lpfaint99over 12 years ago

helgenx, did you try renaming sdl (1.2).dll to sdl.dll?

#27 Updated by wildweelzover 11 years ago

I am having the same problem, and its only with the newer version, i am using a
logiteh Gamepad, (looks just like PS2 controller). i have tryed the gamepad with
older versions of dolphin, and it had worked, i think its just my computer?

#28 Updated by Mangaxover 11 years ago

am having similar problem too...
my pc responses to my ps3 controller inputs... but not in dolphin...
i have other emulators which responds to it too...

#29 Updated by adambotleyover 11 years ago

Open Dolphin and click config (wrench symbol)

Go to the plugins tab, look for the 'Pad' drop down menu and select nJoy.

Then go the the Pad config window and enable the motioninjoy controller.
